Centre Hits Out At Telangana On Coronavirus Tests:- The Telangana Chief Minister KCR recently took a dig on the Centre for the package announced saying that it would not help the state in any of the ways. Now it is the Centre which took a dig on the state government for the lack of proactive testing. Preeti Sudan, the Union Health Secretary said that the state has higher positive cases but the number of cases tested is quite low. Preeti Sudan says 'We need to chasse the virus before the virus chases us'. She said that the state accounted for just 1.5% or 20,754 of the 14 lakh RT-PCR tests that are carried out nationwide.

The Centre observed that the tests conducted in Telangana are quite low when compared to Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. The state witnessed 42 new cases in the state and the total reached 1634. 38 people passed away in Telangana till date. Most number of cases are registered in Hyderabad limits. An official from the Health Ministry says that AP is conducting 9000 tests per day while the average is just 200 in Telangana. The tally of tests in Telangana is quite low when compared to the other states. The testing average in the country is 1025 per million, the number in Telangana is just 546.
