Centre Allows Migrant Workers And Students To Travel To Their Hometowns:- The Union Ministry last evening issued an announcement that the migrant workers, students and others to travel to their hometowns. All these new guidelines will come into effect from May 4th and this will also give considerable relaxation to many districts. Lakhs of students and migrant workers are left without reaching their hometowns due to the coronavirus lockdown. All these migrant workers can travel to their hometowns if they have no symptoms of coronavirus. Strict medical screening is planned and the Centre asked all the states to organize thermal screening and quarantine facilities. All these migrant workers, students and others can move to non-containment zones.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received hundreds of requests after which the final call was taken. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal had lakhs of migrant workers who are yet to return home. Union home secretary Ajay Bhalla sent letters to all the states asking them to allocate nodal authorities to send the stranded people. The local health authorities should screen all those who arrive at the state borders. The Home Ministry's move indicates that the lockdown would be lifted in phases and there would be relaxation from May 4th in all the states where the cases of coronavirus are low.
