Centre Decides To Withdraw Faulty Covid-19 Test Kits:- The Indian government decided to withdraw the faulty rapid antibody test kits that are imported from China after they have been showing inaccurate results. The Centre initially asked all the states not to use them for time being and they came to a conclusion today that they would withdraw the kits and all the orders will be cancelled. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Chief Balram Bhargava today after which they decided to cancel all the procurement orders.

The first set of kits arrived last week from China and they were sent to various states. Most of the kits reported problems though China denied the accuracy and quality issues. Special expert teams are sent to eight states after the complaints were registered to test the kits that gave inaccurate results. The ICMR was also criticized for buying the kits for a higher price after a legal dispute. The ICMR officials said the kits were procured at the request of the states. All these antibody test kits would be returned back to the suppliers.
