Telangana Doubles Home Quarantine To 28 Days

Telangana Doubles Home Quarantine To 28 Days:- The government of Telangana said that the home quarantine is now doubled from 14 days to 28 days and there would be no testing of asymtomatic contacts of the identified coronavirus patients. With the number of positive cases having a huge rise, the government took this decision. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare couple of days ago said that 80% of the carriers in the country had only mild symptoms. The Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) said that it is impossible to test everyone and lockdown is the best process to bring things under control.

Telangana Chief Minister KCR already made it clear that the state would be under strict lockdown till May 7th. Hyderabad witnessed huge rise in the number of cases and the city is under strict lockdown. KCR has been revealing the status of the coronavirus on regular basis. A cabinet meeting will take place on May 5th and the call on lockdown extension will be taken during the meeting. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangan said that all the secondary contacts of the coronavirus patients will be sent directly to 28 days home quarantine in special arranged quarantine centres. This is the first time, a state took such decision on home quarantine. The total number of coronavirus cases in Telangana are 945 and 23 people passed away in the state.
