Tough Law On Attacks Against Health Workers:- In this tough coronavirus time, several people staged attacks on the health workers and doctors which is sure not a good sign for the society. The Centre today announced that stringent action would be taken on all those who stage attacks on health workers in the country. A jail term of seven years would be awarded and the fine would be between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakhs. The punishment is also made a non-bailable offence as per the executive order passed by the Centre. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the Epidemic Act has been amended which is 120 years old. Any attack on the doctors or other officials will lead them to stringent action.

"While the whole country is saluting the health officials, a section of people are attacking them. We will not allow this to repeat or happen again in the country. Insurance cover is extended for all the healthcare professionals across the country. The Epidemic Act will protest the doctors, nurses, attendants, Aasha workers and other health workers" said Prakash Javadekar. With several attacks, several groups planned attacks and the protests are called off after the strict punishment announced by the Centre.
