Coronavirus Outbreak: Supreme Court Wants Report About Migrant Workers:- With the coronavirus outbreak, things came to a standstill and the position of migrant workers turned worse across the country. The Supreme Court today wanted a report from the government about the steps that are taken to move the migrant workers back to their homes during this lockdown period. Video conference petitions headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and L. Nageswara Rao are heard separately. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta agreed to file a status report by Tuesday. There are several petitions filed that migration should be stopped to control the spread of coronavirus.

The Supreme Court bench said that they are not ready to make any comments until the government of India files the report which is asked. No directions would be issued before the court goes through all the reports. There are reports that the migrant workers are struggling for food, water and they had no transportation facilities to reach their homes. The petitions wanted the government to identify the migrant workers and their families after which the basic essentials should be provided. There are talks that the migrant workers are rejected by their native villages after they traveled all the way as they would carry the traces of coronavirus.
