CAB Row: Violence Triggers Across Assam and Tripura:- The Citizenship Amendment Bill created a huge outrage across the northeastern part of the country. Traders were attacked, shops were set on fire in the districts of Tripura. The streets of Assam's Guwahati turned into a place for protests and violence was spotted all over. There were filled with burnt tyres, stones and teargas shells after people stepped on to the roads to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. With huge protests all over, the internet services have been suspended for the next 48 hours starting from 2 PM yesterday.

A  fruit vendor who opened his stall was critically injured after protestors burnt his place and hit him hard with sharp weapons. Three other traders suffered injuries in separate attacks. Eight motorbikes were destroyed in different incidents in the states. Over 1000 people have been detained by the cops in Assam. Northeast Students Organization (Neso) called for a bandh against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. Several roads were blocked by the youth and the cops worked hard to bring things under control. Protestors blocked the highways in each and every district.

Tight security was imposed across Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal's residence. On the whole, the total north eastern states staged protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
