TSRTC Has No Money For Salaries:- The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) informed the Telangana High Court that they could not pay the salaries of September for their employees due to lack of funds. While they need Rs 239.68 crores to pay the salaries, TSRTC had only Rs 7 crores. Sunil Sharma, Managing Director of TSRTC said this in an affidavit before the court bench that is led by Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili who has been listening to the petition. Sharma said that TSRTC is in deep financial crisis and it is depending on the government to pay the salaries of the staff every month.
Telangana government argued that TSRTC incurred losses of Rs 150 crores due to the strike during the Dasara holiday season. Though the government clarified that 75% of the buses are now operating in the state and are generating revenue. On the other hand, several locations across Hyderabad witnessed bumper-to-bumper traffic. The schools are reopened after prolonged Dasara vacation and with the shortage of TSRTC buses, the traffic across the city was huge. Congress leaders too stepped on to the roads and rushed to Pragathi Bhavan to protest against the government which added extra traffic.
