Supreme Court Allows CBI Custody for P Chidambaram:- Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram is arrested in INX Media case and the Supreme Court today directed him to remain in CBI custody till September 5th. The CBI today the Supreme Court that it is not needed for Chidambaram to stay in their custody. The CBI wanted Chidambaram to be sent to Tihar jail under the judicial custody. The Supreme Court even asked the counsel of Chidambaram not to request for the interim bail. Supreme Court asked them not to talk about it till September 5th.

A bench of justices R Banumathi and A S Bopanna said it would on Thursday hear Chidambaram's plea about the non-bailable warrant issued against him. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the CBI, moved an application seeking recall of the apex court's Monday order. After hearing Mehta's submissions, the bench said the interim bail plea be listed for hearing before the trial court on September 5th. The final matter in Chidambaram case will be decided on Thursday by the apex court.
