YS Jagan's Big No for Iconic Bridge: YSRCP Chief and AP new Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is known for taking dynamic and bold decisions after he took charge as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is preparing a DPR (Detailed Project Report) on the bridge to be constructed on the Krishna river. The previous government TDP wanted the bridge to be erected on the Krishna river. But YS Jagan and his government are not much interested on the bridge which is expected to be made on a budget of Rs 800 crores.

The NHAI estimated that the cost of the iconic bridge would be around Rs 800 crores. After YS Jagan expressed his disinterest, NHAI is in plans to go ahead with an ordinary bridge that would cost them Rs 400 crores. NHAI even proposed to drop the construction of one more bridge between Chennai and Kolkata highway. YS Jagan gave his nod for several other construction projects in and around Vijayawada that would minimize the traffic in the coming years.
