Karti Chidambaram Moves to Supreme Court:- Karti Chidambaram, the son of former Union Minister P Chidambaram moved to Supreme Court asking the release of Rs 10 crores that has been deposited with the court's registry. He wanted the funds to be released as he wished to travel abroad on personal work. He said that he has been paying interest for the deposited Rs 10 crores and wanted the funds to be released. Justice Indira Banerjee and Sanjiv Khanna listened to his plea yesterday and they revealed that they would not grant him any relief.

The Vacation bench asked Karti Chidambaram to submit his plea before the regular bench. Earlier, Karti Chidambaram has been granted to travel to UK, USA, Germany, France and Spain, but he was asked to pay a deposit of Rs 10 crores. Though the court said that the amount would be returned after his arrival, it did not happen. Karti Chidambaram is being investigated by the CBI and ED in money laundering case related to Aircel-Maxis. Funds of Rs 305 crores have been diverted when his father P Chidambaram was a Finance Minister.
