Sri Lanka Lowers Suicide Bomb Attacks Deaths to 253: Hundreds of citizens and tourists passed away in the recent deadly attacks in Sri Lanka which left the whole world in deep shock. The death toll was figured out to be over 359 as per the estimates from the International media. But the Sri Lankan authorities said that the toll in the attack are 253. The authorities said that the badly mutilated bodies have been double counted because of which the toll was higher.

The Health Ministry said that the autopsies that are completed on Thursday concluded that several victims have been counted twice. The toll was reduced by 106 after the reconciliation of the autopsy and the DNA reports. The Ministry also said that most of the victims are badly mutilated. The Sri Lankan authorities also clarified that 40 victims are foreign nationals. The Health Ministry also said that 485 people are hospitalized with injuries and 149 are still in hospital as of yesterday evening. All others have been discharged and recovered well.
