Pramod Sawant Takes Oath As The New CM Of Goa:- Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away recently which left the nation in shock. The last rites of the veteran politician took place last evening. Goa Speaker Pramod Sawant has been sworn as the 13th Chief Minister of Goa and he took oath during the midnight. Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party leader Ramkrishna Dhavalikar are made deputy Chief Ministers. This is the first time Goa will have two deputy Chief Ministers.

Pramod Sawant, the 46-year-old politician took oath at 11 PM after BJP closed all the discussions with its allies GFP, MGP and the independents. Sawant resigned from the position of Speaker. Along with the Parliament polls, Goa will head for by-polls in Mandrem, Shiroda, Mapusa and Panaji soon. The elections are announced to take place on April 23rd. BJP is quite confident of sweeping them while the opposition parties are in the game to win.
