Sabarimala Row: Supreme Court's Decision In January 2019:- The Supreme Court took a historic decision to allow women of all ages into the famous Sabarimala temple, Kerala after which protests triggered across the state. Despite of several attempts, several women have been stopped, attacked near the temple premises. The Supreme Court now agreed to hear 49 review petitions that have been filed against its verdict on September 28th. The apex court announced January 22nd 2019 for open court hearing. The public will be allowed for this hearing.
The Supreme Court also will listen to the fresh writ petitions on the same day. The five judge bench took the decision today at 3 PM. The bench comprised of CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justices Rohinton Nariman, AM Khanwilkar, DY Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra. The Kerala Government arrested over 2000 protestors in connection with the case and the investigation is on. The opposition parties slammed Kerala Government for not controlling the violence.
