What Happened To Brand New Lion Air Flight: Latest Updates: The brand new Lion Air Flight crashed right after 13 minutes it took off in the Java sea near Jakarta which had 189 people on board. Lion Air Flight JT 610 was just two months old and it had technical glitz after which the pilot called off for return. Lion Air Flight was on its way to Pangkal Pinang which is one hour away. The flight crashed at breakneck speed into the sea from an altitude of 1479 m in just 21 seconds. Experts revealed that the flight was unsteady between 1370 m and 1630 m before the drastic fall. Lion Air ordered for a thorough investigation on the incident.
The rescue operations have been on and they managed to collect the belongings and some of the body parts of several passengers on board. A team of 300 people along with local fishermen, cops and soldiers participated in the rescue operations. The head of Indonesia's search clarified that he is not expecting any survivors from the tragic accident. Pilot Bhavye Suneja who was leading Lion Air Flight hails from India. The rescue operations started on day two with over 651 cops, 15 forensic officers. 151 relatives came forward to offer the DNA samples to verify the victims.
As of now a total of 24 body bags have been taken from the crash site for post mortem. With rough sea, the rescue operations have been delayed and the rescue agency BASARNAS ordered to continue the rescue operations for 24 hours.
