Fodder Scam: Lalu Sentenced 3.5 Years Jail

Fodder Scam: Lalu Sentenced 3.5 Years Jail:- Bihar Ex-Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has been announced convicted in the fodder scam and the special CBI Court revealed that the jail sentence will be out early this year.  The special CBI court today sentenced Lalu to 3.5 years of jail in the fodder scam case. Along with this, Lalu has even been fined with Rs 5 lakhs. Lalu has been accused of misusing Rs 89 lakhs from Deoghar Treasury during the term of 1991-94. The Special CBI judge Shivpal Singh announced the decision through a video conference.

If Lalu fails to furnish the fine, his jail term will be extended for six months more. Tight security has been arranged before the court ahead of the sentence. Lalu Prasad Yadav yesterday requested minimum punishment citing health issues through his lawyer. Lalu's son Tejasvi Yadav and other party leaders Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Manoj Jha have been announced guilty in the case. The Fodder scam came to light during 1996.
