Modi Launches Saubhagya Scheme For Free Electricity:- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Saubhagya Scheme which assures free electricity for the poor across the country. Modi assured free electricity connections to the families of the poor across the cities and villages by December 2018. A total outlay of Rs 16320 crores are said to have been allotted for this process and it will be funded mostly by the Centre. Modi assured that the poor will not have to pay for the electric connections.

"Under the PM Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana (Saubhagya), every house will be given an electricity connection and the government will allot the connections" revealed the Prime Minister. It has been estimated that 4 crore households will get free electricity connections under Saubhagya Scheme. Mr. Modi inaugurated the Deen Dayal Urja Bhavan, a new green building built by public sector oil explorer ONGC in the national capital. Modi assured that the process has been initiated and will be completed by December 2018.

Modi even revealed that 25% of the Indians are living without power and women are said to have been struggling to cook in the dark over these years. Saubhagya Scheme will sure turn the fortunes of the poor families assured Narendra Modi during his speech.
