PIL Filed In HC Over Allocating Assembly Coverage Rights To ABN Group:- Challenging the Andhra Pradesh government's decision to allocate the Assembly coverage rights to 'Advanced Telecommunications, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the High Court of Hyderabad.

YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy filed the petition on Tuesday. The High Court, responding to the petition, directed the state government to file a counter within two weeks. The company 'Advanced Telecommunications' has also been served notices.

Addressing media persons, Ramakrishna Reddy said that by allocating the coverage rights without calling for tenders, the  state government had violated rules. He alleged that on the behest of Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, the rights were given to the company.

The officials, responding to the RTI application filed by Ramakrishna Reddy, said that the rights were given to the 'Advanced Telecommunications.' Alla Ramakrishna Reddy had said that he has shown proof that the company is owned by Vemuri Radhakrishna's son Vemuri Aditya.

The ruling government has allocated the rights to the ABN network, with a view to suppress the voice of the YSRCP legislators in the Assembly, said Ramakrishna Reddy. “There is quid pro quo involved in the deal,” he alleged.
