Chandigarh Police Issues Summons To Vikas Barala : Haryana Stalking Case:- The Chandigarh Police issued summons to Haryana BJP President Subhash Barala’s son, Vikas Barala.

Vikas Barala was summoned to be present before the Station House Officer of Sector 26 police station at 11 am in connection with the Haryana stalking case. After the Chandigarh police examined the CCTV footage of the victim being chased by Vikas, the notice was issued. Under 160 Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the case has been filed against Barala under Section 354D (stalking), 341 (wrongful restraint), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 185 MV Act (rash driving), the police have issued the notice to Vikas.

The victim, Varnika Kundu (29) had accused Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar of stalking her after midnight on Friday. She also made allegations that Vikas tried to open her car door.

On the same night, Varnika had lodged a police complaint, following which Vikas and his friend were arrested. However, they were later released on bail.

According to a leading news channel, it was reported that the notice was issued to both the accused in the case. Ashish Kumar accepted the notice, while Vikas did not. The Chandigarh Police pasted the summons outside his residence, as Vikas did not accept the notice.

The Congress has accused the BJP of hatching conspiracy and pressurising the Chandigarh Police to protect the son of Haryana BJP chief.

The Chandigarh Police, however, refuted the allegations. It said that “they are not willing to file complaints against Vikas and further added that they are doing investigation with an open mind.”

Meanwhile, Subhash after being mute for over three days, finally broke his silence on the matter on Tuesday. Addressing the media, Subhash stated that Varnika "is like his daughter" and assured action against his son.

"Investigation is being done in the case. Whatever action is required it will be taken against Vikas in this case. BJP bats for daughter's freedom and Varnika Kundu is like my daughter. Neither I nor BJP is pressuring anyone in this matter," he told a leading news channel exclusively.
