AP CM Lays Foundation Stone For Airport At Orvakal:- The AP CM Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu has laid the foundation stone for Greenfield Airport near Rock Garden at Orvakal in Panyam assembly segment, Kurnool District.

Naidu said the construction of this airport at Orvakal will help weed out faction conflicts in the Kurnool district. Many industries will come up in the district, with the construction of this airport, thus helping business in this area and generating more employment.

The CM said that it will be constructed in 2,000 acres land at an expected cost of Rs 120 crore. The businessman of Kurnool presently, have to go either to airports of Bengaluru or Hyderabad by traveling hundreds of kilometers for not having the airport facility in Kurnool. The Orvakal airport would be constructed with international standards and would be completed just in a year, said Mr. Naidu.

In addition, Naidu also laid the foundation stone for a food processing unit at Tangadancha village in Jupadubungla mandal. The Jain Irrigation System is establishing the food processing unit at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore. A school building was also inaugurated by Naidu, which costed a Rs 7 crore funds of the Self Help Groups.

The construction of the airport is to benefit the realtors only, said CPM District Secretary K Prabhakar Reddy. He further added that Very few persons like TG Venkatesh, Butta Renuka, KE Krishna Murthy and group-I officers may benefit from the airport. No common man can get any benefit from the airport. The government is confined only to laying foundation stones, but it will not strive for its completion, alleged Mr. Reddy.
