Supreme Court has finally given its verdict on the disproportionate assets (DA) case, convicting AIADMK general secretary V.K. Sasikala.

According to the latest update, Sasikala will surrender before Bengaluru court on Wednesday. Before starting for her residence, Sasikala spent the whole day along with her MLAs at the Golden Bay resort in Koovathur near Mamallapuram. She later Ms Sasikala left the premises in her SUV at around 9.30 pm and reached the Poes Garden residence at around 11 pm.

Before she left the resort, Ms Sasikala spoke with all the MLAs. All the MLAs were staying at the luxurious resort since last week. Sasikala asked all of them to remains united.

“I may go to jail, but my heart will always here. I will continue to perform my duties as the AIADMK General Secretary from wherever I am,” Ms Sasikala told her legislators.

She also accused Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao asking "why he has not invited Mr Palanisamy to form the government as yet. They can't jail my thoughts. Whether I'm here or in another state, I will work for the party 24 hours a day. Our enemy Karunanidhi lodged this case and we should ensure that his party DMK does not come to power again in Tamil Nadu."

“There is no need for anyone to be afraid. We must do good for the people and we must only think about how to help the people. I request you to smile and not cry,” Ms Sasikala said.

Supreme Court has convicted Sasikala along with her relatives Ilavarasi and V.N. Sudhakaran in the case. After her legal team explored all options, Ms Sasikala was told to surrender as it was only the option. Sasikala is likely to take a chartered flight from Chennai to Bengaluru on Wednesday. There she will surrender before the court.
