In a shocking incident, a lecturer who was working for a private college in Hyderabad was killed in an accident in Warangal late on Wednesday. Kumar had recently posted on Facebook that his life was in danger and he was getting threats from certain groups “including Pakistan’s ISI” .
Local police said "the lecturer was in an inebriated condition when the road accident took place near traffic signals close to MGM hospital. The lecturer came under the rear wheels of a lorry. Death was instant for him. Warangal Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu said that a case of road accident was registered. The body was shifted to MGM hospital morgue."
According to the police, Kasha Praveen Kumar, 28, was working as a lecturer at MS Junior College, at Malakpet. But he did not go to college on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, the college management received news of his death in Warangal. Kumar’s posts on Facebook were later discovered by a colleague. One of the posts simply read, ‘ISIS training center in Hyderabad.’
In a series of posts, Kumar wrote: “Now, I will face a threat from ISI agents. Last year they tried to kill me. Police can u give me protection. If it is possible save the country I love INDIA. ISIS training center in Hyderabad. I face the threat from MS Junior College management. If anything happened to me that’s because of MS Education Academy. Save the INDIA (sic).?
His last post thanked ‘family and friends’. According to officials, he was killed in an accident after getting hit by a truck at MGM X road in Warangal.
Warangal police said "a case has been registered and added that an inquiry was now on to determine if it was indeed a road accident or suicide. City police meanwhile said there is no evidence to support Kumar’s allegations."
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, his colleagues said "they were unaware of any content posted by Praveen. He hailed from Medak district. He was working in a college at Malakpet and used to stay at a rented house at Musheerabad."
