In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped by a woman, who left her in a temple after stealing her gold earrings in Nallakunta.
Police said that “V. Harshitha, 5, is the only daughter of Divya who is working as a cook at the Adikmet government ST hostel for girls. After the death of her husband a few years ago Divya and her son Bhanu Prasad and daughter Harshitha came to Hyderabad.”
He said “Divya started working at the hostel a year ago. Bhanu Prasad is studying in Class II and Harishitha in Class I at a nearby government school. On Monday, at around 10.30 am, both the kids came out of school after taking part in Independence Day celebrations, and then a woman befriended them. She lured them with a chocolate and asked Harshitha to accompany her. When Harshitha was about to go with the woman, Bhanu Prasad stopped her, but the woman threatened him saying that she would complain to his teacher about him.”
Police added “the woman took the girl with her, and Bhanu Prasad rushed home and informed his mother. They searched near the school and filed a complaint with the police. A kidnap case was registered. Meanwhile, after a couple of hours, the girl was found near the Mahankali temple at Amberpet. The woman stole the girl's gold earrings weighing a gram each and abandoned her. She did not harm the girl. The girl was handed over to her mother. Police is checking CCTV footage in the surroundings to track down the woman.”
