In another new initiative, as many as 905 additional APSRTC buses have been arranged and for every 2 minutes buses will run from Guntur to Vijayawada. Arrangements are being made as APSRTC is expecting 2 lakh pilgrims to visit the Pushkar Ghats in Guntur district every day.
APSRTC regional manager G. Shrihari said that “the Corporation would be operating buses to all Ghats, including small ones. 226 buses would ply to old Amaravati, 193 to Seethanagaram, 140 to Vijayawada, 79 to Srisailam, 26 to Tallayapalem, 10 to Vijayapuri South, 20 to Krishnaveni Sangamam, 10 to Penumudi and 201 buses to other Ghats. Pushkar buses to Vijayawada, Seethanagaram and Krishnaveni Sanghamam will start from NTR Bus Station, buses to old Amaravati and Tallayapalem from old RM office and Wolf Ground at Guntur.”
He said “buses to Amaravati, Tallayapalem, Vijayawada, Seetanagaram and Sangamam will start from Gorantla Pushkar Nagar on the outskirts of Guntur city, AIIMS ground at Mangalagiri and Guntur railway station. Buses to old Amaravati will run from Pedakurapadu railway station and buses to Seetanagaram and Vijayawada will start from Krishna Canal Junction railway station for the convenience of railway passengers.”
Mr Shrihari added that “service would be free from Pushkar Nagars to Pushkar Ghats. All basic amenities including toilets, medical assistance and restrooms will be provided in the temporary APSRTC bus stations. He said that 18 special temporary bus-stations will serve the devotees.”
