The Palamaner police and Rural Organisation for Poverty Eradication Services (ROPES) organised the World Day Against Child Labour-2016 at Palamaner, Chittoor.
This rally will focus on the increase of child labour. The main focus was to eliminate the social evil.
In this rally all the students, local people, police and employees participated. Passing through the arterial junctions of the town, the awareness rally was organised.
ROPES teams was led by chairman K. Dhanasekharan,. Assistant Sub-Inspector of police Karim Munisha, along with the women cops Usha and Sujatha visited various commercial outlets.
They gave awareness to the owners to discourage child labour. Police asked owners to encourage children to focus on there studies and set goals. They also distributed pamphlets with information about the laws related to child labour, punishment and penalties for encouraging child labour.
Meanwhile, the Ropes Child Line 1098 team and Palamaner police rescued a Class X girl (16). Her parents were getting her married at with a 28-year old daily wage at Mandipeta Kotur village.
They got the information through helpline after which they rushed to the spot with the rescue team rushed to the village. The parents and relatives of both bride and groom were about to leave for Moghileswara Temple when the police arrived. Police counseled both the families and let them go.
