In a shocking incident, some unidentified persons slaughtered a 70-year-old Hindu priest in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
According to the deputy police chief Gopinath Kanjilam, this incident happened when Ananda Gopal Ganguly left home to offer prayers at a hindus house. When he did not return home police did a search operation. His body was found with his head beheaded at a rice field in the village of Noldanga in Jhenidah district.
Police suspect that the latest series of attacks on minorities by suspected Islamist militants must be the cause.
"He left home this morning saying that he was going to a Hindu house to offer prayers. Later farmers found his near-decapitated body at a rice field," Kanjilal told.
He added that it is too early to arrest anyone. But they suspect ISIS behinde this because the pattern of the murder is in the same way ISIS do.
More than 40 people have died in the last three years. Ganguly is the 11th person to be killed. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government has blamed homegrown Islamists for the attacks. He claims IS and a South Asian branch of Al-Qaedan responsible.
