Telangana Chief Minister KCR warned Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy not to “play petty politics over the sentiments of Telangana people or the state’s irrigation projects.”
Naidu said that, he is not going to compromise until the AP gets its rightful share of Krishna river water.
He alleged that, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana have been utilizing Krishna water due to which water levels at Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar projects have come down drastically.
Countering this, KCR said, “Telangana will utilise its share of waters 100%. For the sake of your petty politics, don’t play with the Telangana people. Don’t wake up the sleeping Telangana tiger or else you will be mauled.”
“I very well know the drama enacted by Chandrababu and Jagan. They are using Telangana peoples’ shoulders to fire at their targets. They will face serious consequences,” KCR said.
KCR added that, the TRS government in the state, sanctioned several new irrigation projects and earmarked Rs. 25000 crore annually in the budget. From ‘Alampur to Bharachalam’, the state sought friendly ties with Maharashtra, Karnataka and AP.
“Naidu is unnecessarily creating disturbances among the people in both the states. Is there not enough water in the Godavari,” KCR questioned Chandrababu and Jagan. Telangana CM opined that, even after utilizing the water by two states, there is surplus water in the river.
After the cash for vote and phone conversation disturbances between the dual Telugu state CMs, Naidu tried to avoid targeting KCR and made few friendly gestures.
But again it is now, after a long time, the two biggies are firing at each other. How far this leads to and how would get troubled with the consequences, is to be seen.
