‘Operation Chabutra’ to nab old city youth

South Zone Police conducted ‘Operation Chabutra’ to arrest the youth and minors sitting on the streets of the old city for no reason.

For the past nights, the police officials have been conducting this operation between 11 pm and 3 am by forming 10 teams.

Intercepting about 153 youths, including five minors in the entire South Zone, the teams sent those people for counselling, calling their parents.

The street fights that led to the murders, stabbing, stone pelting, love affairs and eve teasing issues that led to severe consequences, are briefed to the parents in the counselling.

The police officials finally left the youth, after their parents accepted that they neglected their children and further assured that, they are not going to repeat the mistakes again.

Speaking on the issue, V. Satyanarayana, South Zone deputy commissioner said, “We are not hesitating to book their parents if minors indulge in grave crimes and intentional overlooking of the activities such as rash and negligent motorcycle driving without valid driving license.”

DCP further said that three months- February, March and April are very crucial for the students, as all the examinations will be held in these months.

Telangana government is offering free coaching to the old city youths for Police Constable selections and also free coaching to the 10th Class dropouts.

Moreover, no sound systems will be allowed in any function hall after 10.30 pm, as it disturbs the students preparing for academic and competitive examinations.

With the target of changing the lifestyle of old city youth, the Hyderabad city police are taking every possible step to make it possible.
