It seems, YSRCP finally took a wise decision, by staying away from the upcoming GHMC polls.
After the horrible failure in the last Warangal by-polls, most of the parties, seems unwilling to participate in GHMC polls, knowing TRS strength in the state. In that list, YSRCP took a step forward and had announced yesterday, that they would stay away from the polls and concentrate on strengthening the party in the state.
As GHMC elections are going to be held on February 2nd and out of 150 GHMC seats, the party leaders are pressurized YSRCP chief, Jagan Mohan Reddy, to contest in at least 10 seats. But Jagan, rejected their request, withdrawing from the elections.
However, parties like Congress and TDP are campaigning for the elections. As a part of the campaign, both the parties are claiming the credit of Hyderabad development. While Congress party is stressing upon the outer ring road, Godavari and Krishna projects, TDP is stressing upon developing the IT industry in the city.
On the other side, TRS, who did not even complete two years of formation of the government in the state, is alleging that, neither Congress nor TDP, developed Hyderabad. It was Nizams, who contributed a lot to the city.
TRS leaders further added that, their government planned and approved several new projects like fly overs, Kakatiya mission, double bedroom flats, T-Hub etc.
As Hyderabad includes a greater percentage of the people from Seemandhra, the conditions may not be as favorable as earlier elections to TRS. So the result can be twisted between TDP-TRS-Congress.
However, after the formation of the government in Andhra Pradesh, TDP faced several criticisms from the oppositions and also the normal public. Issues like cash for vote, call money degraded TDP’s image.
On the other side, TRS strengthened its role after the formation of the government and even assured several good projects in the future. It even concentrated on Seemandhra and it is there, it managed to get win their hearts.
Congress is in the next position, in all the elections held, in Telangana. So if it is not TRS, the next choice is expected to be Congress, but would be tough for TDP, to prove in GHMC elections.
