Siricilla Rajaiah’s daughter-in-law, Sarika, is supposed to appear before the court today, along with her husband Anil and other family members.

In a suspicious fire accident held in Siricilla Rajaiah’s house, in the early hours of yesterday, it is known that, Sarika, along with her three kids were completely burnt and died. The issue went viral yesterday in the political circles and to avoid sending negative signals to the public, the Congress high command replaced Rajaiah, who was supposed to file the nomination yesterday for Warangal bypolls, with Sarva Satyanarayana.

In the past, basing upon the complaint given by Sarika stating that, her in-laws were harassing her, the court had served notice to her and her husband Anil and the family members, along with Anil’s second wife Sana, on Monday.

In April 2014, a case with FIR no 87/2014 under sections 498(a), 494 and 506 of IPC was registered and the trial was in progress. During the investigation, the police had found that there is no involvement of Rajaiah in the case and so filed a petition seeking deletion of his name from the case and filed a chargesheet in February 2015 with no 152/2015.
 
In the complaint, Sarika said that, “She was being ignored  by her husband and his family. They are not even giving the maintenance, which the court ordered to give. No one is concerned about my children, even if they fall sick. Though I informed to Anil’s  parents, there is no use at all.”

On the other side, when Congress officials were questioned that, how come they have nominated Rajaiah, as Warangal bypoll candidate, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said, “No one mentioned it to me; AICC is not aware of any such complaint.”

TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “We are not aware of any cases against Rajaiah, and I did not receive any complaint from anyone, including his daughter-in-law Sarika.”

But it is well known that, Sarika wrote to the Congress high command requesting not to nominate Rajaiah and the news was even in the media. On the other side, though the high command is not aware of Sarika’s complaint, how can it opt a candidate without proper inquiry about his background is the main question here.

Further details are expected to be out through the investigation upon Rajaiah and his family.
