Ganesh immersion was held yesterday under tight security in the Telugu states and a few of the major Ganesh idols immersion in Hyderabad, is going to be held today.
Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad, Telangana was held very grandly. As it is a Sunday and holiday to everyone, more number of people turned to see the grandeur at Hussain Sagar.
Two wheelers, four wheelers or any type of vehicles are not allowed on the route of Hussain Sagar and many of them enjoyed the occasion, walking on the roads.
Marking the culmination of the 10-day Ganesh Utsav festivities, thousands of devotees carried the Ganesh idols, which are in different sizes and avatars.
Meanwhile, Telangana Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, DGP Anurag Sharma, city Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy and a few other officials made an aerial survey of the Ganesh immersion at Hussain Sagar.
Ganesh immersion started from Balapur
Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad has started from Balapur on the city outskirts. Balapur Ganesh passed through old city and other sensitive areas, and then got immersed in Hussain Sagar.
Hyderabad Ganesh immersion: Tight security at every step
In both Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerate limits, over 30000 police, including from central paramilitary forces, were deployed and maintained high level security.
Along with Telangana state police, the neighboring states police like Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also were called for the security arrangements during Ganesh immersion.
Along with the police, there are over 2500 CCTV cameras fixed at every sensitive spots in the city. Also 400 cameras were installed on the main route, where vehicles carrying Ganesh, are travelling towards Hussain Sagar.
Around 50 cranes were deployed for the immersion of the Ganesh idols. Along with Hussain Sagar, the Telangana authorities made arrangements at 20 other lakes, to conduct Ganesh immersion.
Khairathabad Ganesh immersion today
Khairathabad Ganesh, the tallest and most popular one of Hyderabad, will take its immersion today. Last year Khairathabad immersion took place in the late night. But as of now, the people are
finding tough to put it on the crane. So this year immersion of Khairathabad Ganesh is expected to delay, more than the last year.
Khairathabad Ganesh this year is 59 feet with a 6,000-kg 'laddu' in its hand. Many people visit this Ganesh and it is because of this popularity, the organizers makes sure that, Khairathabad Ganesh passes through the major roads of the city
However, except a few of the serious cases here and there, Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad was held safe and the police and government officials needs a loud applause for their security arrangements.
