Arguing with the students, the police said that, the arrest is being made only after proper investigation.
“Under the Section 360, Malakonda Reddy and Subba Reddy, former Darsi MLA, were arrested, based on the findings during the investigation into the circumstances, that led to the suicide of Anusha, a 21-year-old girl. She specified all the details in her diary,” said K. Raghavendra, Darsi Circle Inspector.
The police further said that, Anusha who used to get 70 percent marks in the exams, had been awarded lesser marks in the tests, after a few differences arose between her and HOD.
Because of this, Anusha has stopped going to college for 10 days and finally she committed suicide, when her parents were away from the house. In fact, even the student’s father Rami Reddy said that, the college is wholely and solely responsible for her daughter’s death.
Andhrawishesh view
The bachelor degree girls’ suicides in the recent times have been increasing. Especially after Rishiteshwari issue, the officials imposed several rules on the ragging cases in the colleges.
Even the central government came down and thought of a new proposal which is adopting the girls hostels, so that the leaders can eye upon the incidents happening in the hostels.
But even then, the college management or the students are being involved in the harassement and ragging their students and friends in the college respectively. How tougher the rules should be implemented and who are really concerned about the suicides? Only god knows the answers to these questions.
