While Telangana government is being successfully implementing its programme called Gramajyothi, by making the leaders and others, adopting the villages, the centre has come up with a proposal on the similar lines, but this time, it is adopting the hostels.
It is known that in the recent times, there are many cases went viral, where the girls are facing immense difficulties in the hostels, due to ragging. Especially after Rishiteshwari suicide case, the issue went more viral. So to control these type of issues, the central government has proposed the leaders to adopt at least one hostel in their respective districts.
In each district, there are 150 to 200 hostels under various programmes covering model schools, Kasturba Gandhi schools, social welfare and residential schools. All such hostels are of maximum for girls only and that too, they are far away from the villages.
Now, after the leaders adopting the hostels, the responsibility of such hostels will go under such leaders itself. They should sleep at least a day per month in the hostel and inquire about the problems, the girls are facing.
On what basis, the Telangana origin person is decided?
The state-level posts of government officers between AP and Telangana, which has become a problem to Kamalnathan committee for quite some time, has now at least half-resolved.
Deciding the nativity of people of Telangana origin, who studied in Korukonda in Vizianagaram district, Sainik school and, thereby, became local for AP.
Along with this issue, the Kamalnathan committee, also had to decide the fate of Kakinada and other near by places in East Godavari district who studied in Yanam, which is part of the Union Territory of Puducherry, and thus became non-locals of AP.
Seven out of 10 years decides locality
According to a Presidential Order, the people who completed their school education, seven out of ten years in a particular region, are considered local to that particular region.
On the other hand, the committee decided to treat the Telangana origin person, who studied in the Sainik school, as a native of Telangana and repatriated him to that State.
