The East Godavari district farmers travelled to Tirumala on bicycles for seeking the blessings of lord Venkateshwara Swami, regarding the Special status for Andhra Pradesh state.
When the state government seems silent on the special status and the opposition leaders are postponing their protest against the centre for the special status, the farmers are taking initiative for the various problems faced by Andhra Pradesh, along with the special status.
Nearly 200 farmers of the district, came out with the innovative proposal to visit Tirumala on bicycles. Most of the farmers are vegetable cultivators, who started to Tirumala from Jonnadha village of Alamuru mandal in East Godavari district. By tomorrow night, all the farmers are expected to reach Tirumala, which is 500 kms away from their place, and offer the prayers.
Before reaching Tirumala, the farmers will travel through Ravulapalem, Vijayawada, Guntur and other major places.
The farmers will travel through Ravulapalem, Vijayawada, Guntur and other places before reaching Tirumala. Swamy claimed that it was for the first time that farmers had left for Tirumala on bicycles to seek blessings of the Lord for rains and good health for the people of the state.
“Along with the special status, we are going to seek other wishes like enough rains, to solve the farm sector problems and also other major and minor problems, which the state is facing for quite some time,” the farmers said.
It is known that, the farm sector in Andhra Pradesh has faced severe losses in the recent times and there is also scarce in providing the employment opportunities. Along with that, Amaravathi capital construction is another big challenge to be faced by the state government.
“Especially after the Telugu states bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh is pushed in terrible problems, with which the government is not able to come out quickly. All such issues are going to be put opposite Venkateshwara Swami and we believe, he would provide a right justice to Andhra Pradesh state,” they added.
