AP to turn as ‘drought-proof’ in the future - Naidu

“Andhra Pradesh is soon going to be the “drought-proof” state in the country,” said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Speaking in the meeting, on Wednesday, Naidu said, “The Pattiseema lift irrigation project on Godavari River is a major initiative to link Godavari with Krishna river. By implementing the irrigation projects in time and interlinking them with the rivers, the state can soon turn into the drought-proof one.”

Regarding this, the first phase of the Pattiseema lift irrigation project will be completed in six months. On August 15th, the project was dedicated to the people, but the water on the project, is going to be released before 15th of September.

As Pattiseema project is located close to the Polavaram irrigation project, the former would provide the water to the Krishna river delta region and pave way for water supply to the parched Rayalaseema region.

Adding further, Naidu said, “The Thotapalli project in North Coastal Andhra will be inaugurated on 10th of September, blaming the previous government’s failure in completion of the projects.

Naidu openly questions Jyotula Nehru about Pattiseema project

Chandrababu Naidu questioned the YSRCP party, which is allegedly said to be against the Pattiseema project, whether they are supporting or acting against the project.

Reacting to this, YSR Congress deputy leader Jyotula Nehru said, the party is always in the favour of the interlinking the rivers.

However, if the said interlinking rivers proposal is carried on as planned, then the projects, which are awaiting its completion, are going to get a good applause by the people.
