President Pranab Mukherjee’s wife Suvra Mukherjee passed away today in Delhi Army hospital due to respiratory failure.
 
Suvra Mukherjee has been suffering from respiratory illness for quite some time. On August 7, she was admitted in a local hospital in Delhi.

Suvra Mukherjee's was born in Narhail district of Bangladesh. When she was 10 years of age, she immigrated to Kolkatta. In 1957, Suvra Mukherjee married Pranab Mukherjee and the couple has two sons Abhijit, Indrajit and a daughter Sharmishta Roy.

Suvra gave her support to Pranab in all his political activities. She accompanied him in a few of the public functions. Even Pranab said that his wife is the secret behind his success.
 
Suvra Mukherjee was being treated in Delhi Hospital since few days, many officials from Bangladesh and other countries inquired about Suvra’s heath condition. “In spite of our trials to provide the best treatment, her body did not react to it and so had to pass away,” close sources said.  

The final respects of Suvra Mukherjee will be carried out after all the required arrangements are made. The official declaration regarding this, is yet to be made by the officials.
