During the  'Samajwadi Prabuddh Sabha' (Samajwadi Intellectual cell) meeting in Lucknow, the former SP MP Ramji Lal Suman described Owaisi as "the new Jinnah” in making. He said that Owaisi's growing influence is dangerous for the nation. "The opposition to his brand of politics should come from UP. Fan out to every nook and corner of the state and spread awareness among the people before this leader is able to inflict damage to the social fabric of the state," said Ramji Lal Suman. "You have to expose several forces inimical to the Samajwadi Party and also the likes of Owaisi as the 2017 state assembly elections are not far away," he added.

Senior SP leader and Health Minister Ahmed Hasan said Owaisi is "a BJP agent." He said that the Muslims were "not gullible to be so easily swayed by rabble rousers like Owaisi.''

Samajwadi Party is of the opinion that Owaisi and his party will be a threat to thte communal harmony in the Uttar Pradesh. The ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh has acknowledged that the Hyderabad leader Asaduddin Owaisi is actually a threat to the party's political future in the state and warned that the party workers have to be both beware of him and oppose his entry into UP at all costs.

Owaisi, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) member of Lok Sabha from Hyderabad, has been trying his level best to enter the Uttar Pradesh to unite the muslim community under his political outfit. Samajwadi Party has been dismissive of his claims. But, at a massive gathering of Samajwadi Party, where veteran socialists were honoured, many speakers called upon the workers to oppose Owaisi with all their might.

While he visited Meerut and Agra in July, Owaisi had received a warm reception from the members of the Muslim community, especially the youth. He had announced that his party will definitely contest the 2017 Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, but he had not specify how many seats the party will contest.

Owaisi known for his communal rants and objection towards whatever is related to Hinduism has recently raised his voice against the hanging of the terror accused Yakub Memon. He used to deliver inflammatory speeches against the Hindu community. His brother is also infamous for communal rants.
