Andhra Pradesh Police has served notices to T-News Channel regarding the phone conversation tape of Stephenson and Chandrababu Naidu.
On Friday night, a new twist has taken place with the issuance of notices to T-News channel that telecasted the phone conversation of the AP CM Chandrababu Naidu with the nominated Telangana MLA Stephenson a few days back.
Regarding this, a case has been filed by an advocate NVV Prasad from Visakhapatnam, alleging that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy, nominated MLA Stephenson, T-ACB officials, Sakshi Newspaper and TV and Telangana News Channel are making attempts to degrade the status of AP CM.
After receiving the complaint, the Vishakhapatnam police responded immediately by rushing to the T News Central Office at Road No.10 situated in Banjara Hills at around 11.45pm and served the notice to the CEO of the Channel under Section 19 of the Cable Network Act, stating that the Channel has violated the stipulations laid down in it.
The summary of the notice questioned that, why should not the action be taken on the channel for violation of the rules. The concerned authorities of the channel are required to respond within 3 days.
Channel protests on the notice
Responding to the notice, the channel staff protests over it and raised the slogans ‘Chandrababu down down’, demanding the withdrawal of such notices.
Notices against two IPS officers
On Friday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, regarding the cases registered against him. The SIT headed by DIG Iqbal held discussions with Chitoor SP, two DSPs and two CIs. Sources said that notices are ready to be served against two IPS officers.
On the other hand, local police said that, without the knowledge of Telangana police, other state police do not posses the right of issuing the notices to the officials in the state. Currently the issue is still taking new turns. Watch the space for more updates.
