At the time of elections, KCR promised double bedroom houses for the poor people and now he is making all arrangements to keep up that promise.
It was known, that on Monday, at a public meeting held, CM assured that the housing project would start up in May. Regarding this, On Wednesday, he said that the government would construct free houses for two lakh poor people in multi-storied complexes in the city. He already ordered officials to acquire 2,000 acres of land in Hyderabad.
From the household survey conducted in Hyderabad, it was known that almost two lakh families did not have houses. The government wants to ensure that not a single family goes without its own house in Hyderabad, CM assured.
Speaking about the land for the project, CM asked the officials to consider unused land that was allotted to government offices, temporary educational institutions, universities and clubs. He further said that, as these are the government houses, people might have few doubts about the location of it. He even assured that the location would be in the centre of the city and if possible around Jubilee Hills or Banjara Hills.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, Principal Revenue Secretary B.R. Meena, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Police Commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad and other senior officials.
