Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the country has emerged out from its decade of despair and now an era of hope has set in.
"There was an atmosphere of disappointment for years. Open the papers, see the TV and you will see news of some scam or the other. You recall there used to be sense of disappointment, every day new scam, youth was disheartened," Modi said in his address at the BJP national executive meet in Bengaluru.
"The world had turned away from India. The world had changed the way they saw India. It was as if India has lost the ability to script a new future, India has lost its way," Modi said.
"We will fulfill your hopes and aspirations. From my 10-month experience I can tell you there is no reason why India must stay behind," Modi said.
