With the opposition parties targeting the NDA government in the Parliament sessions over the Black Money issue, Finance minister Arun Jaitley said, among the 627 names that were given to the court, 250 account holders have accepted that they do have the foreign bank accounts and soon the names will be revealed to the public. More cases are going to be filed in the coming weeks with regard to people figuring in the HSBC list.
Jaitley said the government was actively engaging with other countries to widen its scope of operations against black money. The debate on Black money would continue in the Parliament even today as the oppositions were not happy with it. Except Congress, some parties walked out both the Lower and Upper house. Congress demanded to reveal the names immediately but Jaitley opposed this and added, “Disclosure of names, without following the proper procedures, would only benefit the account holders.”
Defending Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA government, Jaitley said, the government has done more than other governments in the 100 days.
