The Finance Minister Arun Jaitely stated that no list has come from Switzerland Government showing the unaccounted monies India deposited in Swiss banks. He said that the Government of India has to write to Switzerland for the information about those accounts.
Just after the news of Switzerland Government’s willingness to share the information of unaccounted money Indians with the Government of India and cooperate with SIT hit headlines and is going in circles, the Finance Minister made it clear that so far it is only news but no information is received physically so far.
Why a statement about something that has not happened?
It is required as the opposition will create a scene questioning why the list is not made public. They demand immediate action and suspect the intention of the Government questioning why the culprits in the list are not booked and why Government is shielding them. They will go to the extent that some of the senior leaders, without whom the Government cannot run, must be in the list to make it a secret document.
Arun Jaitely said, "We are today writing ourselves to the Swiss authorities with whom the ministry has been in touch so that details with regard to whatever information the authorities have can be expedited and the cooperation between the Swiss authorities and the government of India can bring fruitful results. Our communication will be sent today itself."
