Days after Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao criticizing news channels TV9 and AndhraJyothy for their sarcastic and unclaimed news, the Telangana MSO Association has blocked the transmission of the both the channels in Telangana region as well as in Greater Hyderabad. Not to forget that TV9 channel has openly apologized to the Government and all the legislatures while ABN remained silent. Despite saying sorry, Telangana MSO Association went ahead with the ban decision.
From Sunday night, the transmission of TV9 and ABN channels were stalled in Hyderabad city and from Monday morning, the ban was extended to all the nine districts in Telangana. MSO leaders have urged the media not to adopt anti-Telangana agenda and insulting dialect, culture, legislatures of this region will have severe consequences.
The Telangana Assembly has moved a resolution, giving full powers to the Speaker to take necessary action against channels that has published unclaimed news. Well the decision is yet to be taken and MSO Association reacted quite fast than the Assembly Speaker. The opposition parties are against this ban decision and urged the association to lift the ban and added that it is an undemocratic decision. Freedom of Speech, one of the Fundamental Rights by our constitution is not being implemented and that is a shame!
