Senior BJP leaders aged above 75 years, who were denied cabinet berth and Lok Sabha in the recent elections are likely to be offered Governor posts by the Narendra Modi government. According to the BJP sources, veteran leaders like Jaswant Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Lalji Tandon and V K Malhotra are confirmed for the Governor posts.
Few others leaders who missed out any of the post are sure of getting Governor chair and they will replace Governors of several states who were appointed by the UPA-II government. Kerala Governor Sheila Dikshit is in the list of getting replaced and ESL Narasimhan who is the Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states, will lose any one of the state. Tamil Nadu Governor Rosaiah will also be axed and Murali Manohar Joshi is heard to be the front runners for this post.
On Thursday the Home Ministry held its first meeting to decide on replacements for the Governors' posts across the country. A decision on this will arrive after the first Lok Sabha session which is scheduled to end on June11.
Expelled BJP leader Jaswanth Singh is likely to return to BJP and even he too got a slot in the list of future Governors'.
