Congress President Sonia Gandhi who is campaigning in Telangana region for first time after the formation of the separate state, thanked the martyrs first. Addressing huge public gathering in Karimnagar Sonia said, “Congress has fulfilled the 60 years of Telangana people's dream. BJP, TDP and YSRCP did fight till the last moment to stall the Telangana Bill in Parliament. TRS did play any role while preparing Telangana Bill.”

Sonia added that if the UPA government is voted into power for the third time, it would recognize Pranahitha Chevella project as national one and also would grant special status to Telangana region. “TRS party is blackmailing the migrators and Congress took up the issue even before TRS was born. We had to convince a lot of people and so the delay in creating the separate state. We will also do justice to Seemandhra people and region,” concluded Sonia.

Telangana PCC chief Ponnala, Ex-Deputy CM Damodara and PCC working president Uttatm Kumar Reddy graced the stage along with Sonia.
