Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is under attack with former secretaries are embarrassing him through their books. After Sanjay Baru, former Coal secretary P C Parakh added injury to the insult who claimed Manmohan was running a government in which he had 'little' political authority.
On Monday, Parakh's book "Crusader or Conspirator? Coalgate and other Truths" will be released and he said in the book that Manmohan was unable to prevent his own junior ministers from blocking a move towards a more transparent system of bidding for coal blocks. However, Parakh credited that PM did not make any recommendations or exert pressure in favour of any party.
The 68 year former secretary retired to his post in December 2005 as a BJP MP insulted him. Parakh is also named in the chargesheet filed by the CBI in the Coalgate scam.
