Erase ink, Vote twice: NCP Chief

Nationalistic Congress party [NCP] Sharad Pawar had made controversial statements in an NCP party meeting and advised his party workers to erase the ink and vote twice in the upcoming general elections. Addressing the “mathadi (head loaders)” workers in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, Pawar said they should vote first at their native place Satara, second time in their work place Mumbai and don't forget to erase the ink.

Maharashtra BJP and AAP parties have written a complaint to the Election Commission seeking clarity on Pawar's statements. An EC official said, “we got complaints of Mr. Pawar's statements. We have ordered Thane district collector for the video footage of the meeting and responding accordingly.”

Sensing the controversy, Pawar came to the party headquarters at Nariman Point. Here he consulted Legal and constitutional experts  before inviting the media to sought an explanation. “I did not violate any electoral rule or law. My remarks are just a joke and to bring energy among our party workers,” added the NCP supremo.
