External Affairs minister Salman Khurshid has refused to apologize for his words on Bharatiya Janata Party Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. “Would I call him potent? No other word expressed my feeling better. He should accept what Modi did in 2002,” said Khurshid.
“I talked about impotency in politics and administration. I'm not Modi's personal doctor and I didn't physically examine him. All I meant is, Modi failed in stopping the Gujarat riots and protecting the people from getting killed,” added Khurshid
BJP has demanded an unconditional apology from Khurshid for his derogatory remarks. Meanwhile Janata Dal [United] leader Sabir Ali criticized Khurshid and said, “There could be differences between the political ideologies but using such languages is not acceptable. It is worst to use such languages.”
Khurshid's remarks also made Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to comment on this. “When politicians speak with hatred, it is going to harm you,” Mr Gandhi said in an interaction session at a school in Guwahati.
