Election Commission to ban opinion polls?

The Election Commission of India [ECI] is likely to impose a complete ban on the opinion polls carried out by several agencies as a sting operation by a new channel revealed shocking facts. News Express channel exposed 11 agencies which conduct opinion polls and claim that all the data can be manipulated and provide misleading results.

The channel's Editor-in-Chief Vinod Kapri said that the sting operation carried out is absolutely true and are ready to prove them too. Except CSDS and Neilson agencies, other leading agencies were caught on hidden camera admitting malpractices and how they manipulate the results in favor of political parties.

The Election Commission has stepped into action with this sting operation and asked the concerned new channel to provide the entire footage. “We asked for the raw footage. After thorough examination and forensic analysis we will take a decision on the opinion polls,” added an official of ECI.

Meanwhile India Today group and Times NOW have suspended all the opinion polls being carried out by C-Voter polling agency in the view of sting operation allegations.
