Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Tuesday agreed to seek CBI's help in North East student Nido Taniam who died in the racial attack. Nido's parents yesterday met Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and later Shinde. To the Home Minister Nido's parents submitted nine points memorandum and they state stringent action against Delhi Police who took bribe and failed to take medical test after the first attack.
Speaking to the media after meeting Shinde, Nido's father Pavitra said, “we don't trust the Delhi Police and have therefore, demanded the case to be handed over to the CBI to which Shinde has accepted. We have also asked the home minister to instruct ministry of human resource development to include information about the culture, geography, and ethos of the North-Eastern states in the syllabus of CBSE and all state boards to increase awareness among people.”
